Techniques
Techniques are similar to abilities with three key differences:
- While abilities require a character to be in the right role to use them (for example, only a
Commando can use
Ruin once its been unlocked), Techniques can be used no matter which role your Party Leader is in.
- The second difference is that only your party leader can use a Technique and this is done by selecting the “Technique” menu option in battle and selecting one of them from the list of Techniques available.
- Using a Technique will use up your Technical Point (TP) gauge as shown in the screenshot below.

So how can you recharge your Technical Point (TP) gauge so that you can use more techniques? There are three methods outlined below:
- Completing a battle with a high Battle Rank
- Using an
Ethersol
- Using an
Elixir
Elixirs and Ethersol are quite rare (especially Elixirs, as there is only one in the game that you can pick up in a Treasure Sphere), so your best bet is to complete battles with a high battle rank in order to recharge your TP. Essentially, this will limit the number of Techniques you can use in battle.
