Master Coeurls are not too difficult to defeat, but some of their attacks can cause some negative status effects, like Blaster, which can cause Instant Death on your party members. You can usually just focus on attacking to take them down, but if you are having trouble, have Wakka use his 
Silence Attack or Silence Buster to prevent them from casting spells.
