A list of the key items that you can obtain in the game.
Spheres are items that can be used on the Sphere Grid. They can be used to fill empty nodes, unlock locked nodes and activate nodes as indicated below.
Power Sphere
- Description:

Red Spheres are a very rare drop and are difficult to obtain. The best method of obtaining a Fortune Sphere is by defeating Earth Eater in the Monster Arena.

Attribute Sphere

- “Activates Attribute nodes used by allies on Sphere Grid.”
- Effect:
- Used to activate any Attribute nodes on the Sphere Grid already activated by an ally.
- Where to find it:
- Yellow Spheres are a very rare drop and are difficult to obtain. The only method of obtaining an Attribute Sphere is by Bribing a Maelspike for 200,000 Gil which will net you 1 Attribute Sphere.
Special Sphere
- Description:
- “Activates Special nodes used by allies on Sphere Grid.”
- Effect:

Used to activate any Special Ability nodes on the Sphere Grid already activated by an ally.
It can be used to customize armor with the following Auto-Abilities:
Defense +10% (1 required)
- Where to find it:
- Yellow Spheres are a very rare drop and are difficult to obtain. The only method of obtaining a Special Sphere is by defeating Seymour, bribing an Adamantoise for 1,088,000 Gil (which will get you 6 of them), or finding them in a treasure chest in the Inside Sin section of the game.
Skill Sphere
- Description:
- “Activates Skill nodes used by allies on Sphere Grid.”
- Effect:

Used to activate any Skill Ability nodes on the Sphere Grid already activated by an ally.
It can be used to customize a weapon with the following Auto-Abilities:
Strength +10% (1 required)
It can be used to teach an Aeon the following ability:
Triple Foul (4 required)
- Where to find it:
- Yellow Spheres are a very rare drop and are difficult to obtain. The only method of obtaining a Skill Sphere is by bribing a Zu for 360,000 Gil (which will get you 2) or found in a treasure chest in the Via Purifico.
Wht Magic Sphere
- Description:
- “Activates White Magic nodes used by allies on Sphere Grid.”
- Effect:

Used to activate any White Magic Ability nodes on the Sphere Grid already activated by an ally.
It can be used to customize armor with the following Auto-Abilities:
Magic Def +10% (1 required)
- Where to find it:
- Yellow Spheres are a very rare drop and are difficult to obtain. The only method of obtaining a Wht Magic Sphere is by bribing a Dark Flan for 256,000 Gil (which will get you 2) or finding them in treasure chests in either the Via Purifico or Besaid Temple.
Blk Magic Sphere

- “Activates Black Magic nodes used by allies on Sphere Grid.”

Used to activate any Black Magic Ability nodes on the Sphere Grid already activated by an ally.
It can be used to customize a weapon with the following Auto-Abilities:

- Yellow Spheres are a very rare drop and are difficult to obtain. The only method of obtaining a Blk Magic Sphere is by bribing a Black Element for 152,000 Gil (which will get you 2) or found in a treasure chest in the Via Purifico. One will also drop when you defeat Seymour, Evrae and Evrae Altana.
Master Sphere

- “Activates any Ability or Attribute nodes on Sphere Grid.”
- Effect:
- Used to activate any non-activated nodes on the Sphere Grid. It does not need to have already been activated by an ally.

Yellow Spheres are a very rare drop and are difficult to obtain and the Master Sphere is the rarest of them all. You can obtain them only by defeating the following superbosses:
