Overview

Unfortunately, the Songstress’s biggest weakness is that it doesn’t inflict any damage on its own, nor does it provide any healing on its own. So while there are definitely battles where the buffs and debuffs it provides can prove helpful, you’ll still have to have a party member occupying this role full-time. Sure, you can have a Songstress step in and provide some buffs like Battle Cry, Cantus Firmus, etc., and then leave, but this takes time, and it’s questionable whether it’s worth the time investment.

Having a character in the Songstress role means one less damage dealer or not having a full-time healer when you probably need it (i.e., a White Mage or an Alchemist). Having a character jump between these support roles can make for an entertaining playthrough, but it’s far from optimal. You can augment this by equipping Garment Grids with offensive or healing abilities, but now you’re having to take extraordinary steps to make it work.

How to Obtain It

You automatically obtain this Dressphere at the start of the game after the battle against Leblanc. Yuna will be transformed into the Songstress role automatically, and you’ll have to manually move her into another Dressphere if you don’t want her in it permanently.
