Djose Temple
A cutscene will trigger as soon as Yuna, Rikku, and Paine land at the Djose Temple, leading right into the next Mission. You’ll also receive
Al Bhed Primer once the Mission kicks off.
Mission: No Way, Djose!
The objective of this Mission is to “liberate the temple,” and the steps to complete it are straightforward. You have to navigate your way through the temple and defeat the fiends you encounter along the way.
Enter the temple and then enter the Cloister area. Inside the first doorway, you’ll see Shinra placing his last CommSphere inside the Temple, and after that, you’ll see several Al Bhed struggling to deal with the fiends inside.
Proceed forward across the elevator (in the center of the room) and into the backroom with the electricity and gap in the floor. Jump over the gap to grab the treasure chest with a
Stamina Spring inside of it, then take the elevator up to the second level.
Travel north into the next room to find another treasure chest that contains a
Wristband accessory. This room has 5 pedestals you can push back into their alcoves. Pushing the correct one into its alcove removes the barrier blocking the stairwell to the next level; unfortunately, there’s no way to know which pedestal is correct. It’s random for every playthrough, so keep pushing them back until the stairs are cleared, defeating the fiends as you go.
Your next boss battle is upstairs. Despite appearances, only one of its attacks will be lightning-based damage, so a
Yellow Ring or
NulShock Ring helps less than you might expect.
Boss Battle
Make sure you
Steal or
Mug the
Sprint Shoes from Ixion before the battle concludes.
Ixion’s attacks follow a distinct pattern. It will use its “Aerospark” attack four times (which reduces a party member’s current HP by 62.5%), and then ‘recharge’ itself (which heals some of its HP), and then cast “Thor’s Hammer.” This attack deals quite a bit of damage to your party members (approximately 700), so make sure that your party members are healed up before it hits.
Ixion will absorb lightning-based damage but is weak to water-based attacks (
Water,
Watera,
Waterga,
Liquid Steel,
Water Gems using
Mix). Unlike Yojimbo, it isn’t immune to a
Warrior’s Break abilities, which can help if it’s giving you trouble.
| Enemy | HP | Steal | Drop |

You’ll earn a
Soul of Thamasa and an
Unwavering Guard Garment Grid at the conclusion of the fight. A lengthy cutscene and FMV will trigger, wrapping up the chapter. During the sequence that follows, you’ll receive
Crimson Sphere 2 and
Crimson Sphere 3; you can watch them as Crimson Records 2 and 3 in Chapter 4.
Another sequence will play out after the visions in the Farplanes with Yuna in a void by herself.
Warning
Make sure you press the button four times after Yuna says “I’m all alone,” and keep tapping until you’ve heard all four whistles and Yuna is transported away.
One more Fiend Tale Bonus and then an opportunity to save your game, and you’re on to Chapter 4.
Checking the “Chapter 3 Complete” box adds the Story Completion Percent for the automatic scenes at the end of Chapter 3.
