Punisher
Punish 10 enemies (excluding battles in the Hall of Virtue).
“Punishing” an enemy involves pressing the button near that enemy while it is knocked down on the ground. There are many attacks that can knock an enemy down, including
Phoenix Shift with a regular
Melee Attack follow-up. Most players will naturally earn this achievement or trophy as they progress through the game.

You’re Not the Boss of Me
Defeat a boss without taking damage.
This achievement/trophy falls into the same vein as the Medal of Valor challenges, which involve defeating all of the bosses in the game without getting hit. You can earn it from some of the easiest boss fights, including Midnight Raven and the Republican War Panther, and you can obtain it by replaying stages at the Arete Stone. You can see the full list of eligible bosses in the Medal of Valor section.

Made to Be Broken
Defeat 20 enemies while semi-primed (excluding battles in the Hall of Virtue).
You’ll gain access to the Limit Break ability after completing the
Buried Memories Main Scenario Quest. The game refers to Limit Breaks as being “semi-primed” and transformations as being “fully-primed,” so you’ll just have to defeat 20 enemies while your
Limit Break is active (pressing
and
).
This is easier to do if you upgrade the ability, which will add up to two more charge bars and extend the time that Clive has where he is semi-primed. Most players will earn this achievement/trophy naturally as they progress through the game, unless they find themselves in a habit of only using Limit Break against powerful enemies. So make sure you turn it on from time to time when you’re battling some smaller ones!

It’s Over 50,000
Deal an enemy 50,000 damage while it is staggered (excluding in the Hall of Virtue and while fully primed as Ifrit).
There’s no trick to earning this achievement/trophy other than learning which abilities will help yield the highest damage output, and most players typically have the right abilities by the time they’ve earned the Titan Eikon.
The easiest way to do this is to first stagger the enemy, then use abilities with a high stagger stat, followed by high damage attacks. By the time you reach Into the Darkness, you’ll have access to all of the abilities below, which should put you over the edge:
Later on in the game, if you still haven’t obtained it, make sure you’re using Diamond Dust earlier in the sequence, and then
Gigaflare with
Limit Break will very quickly put you over the top.

Sheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeift
Land 15 Shift Strikes or Shift Shots combined (excluding battles in the Hall of Virtue).
This is another achievement/trophy that you will probably earn early on in the game while making use of Phoenix Shift during the first few chapters of the game. Use the
button and then follow up the shift with a Shift Strike (
) or a Shift Shot (
).

Packing Host
Execute and land 2 Heatwave Counters in a single battle (excluding those in the Hall of Virtue).
Properly timing a Heatwave counterattack can be difficult when you first start playing the game, but it’s something that you’ll pick up in no time, and for certain boss fights, there’s no doubt that you’ll earn this trophy. But if you’re looking for a quick way to earn it, travel to the
Martha’s Rest Obelisk, head down the west elevator, take a right, and look for an Adamantoise. These large turtles fire ranged water shots and have a lot of health, so you’re not at risk of them dying too quickly.

Fatal Attraction
Defeat 5 enemies in the air after using Deadly Embrace (excluding battles in the Hall of Virtue).
This achievement/trophy may sound more difficult to obtain than it actually is. Start by attacking an enemy to get its health low, press to use
Jump, then press
to use
Deadly Embrace, and then spam
Melee Attack attacks before Clive falls back down to the ground. If the enemy’s health has depleted enough, you should be able to defeat it in time. To reiterate, the pattern is:
,
,
,
,
,

Never Coming Down
Land Gouge, Wicked Wheel, and Rook’s Gambit in midair before landing (excluding battles in the Hall of Virtue).
This achievement/trophy is quite similar to Fatal Attraction, and it involves landing a Gouge,
Wicked Wheel, and
Rook’s Gambit in the air before touching the ground. The easiest way to do this is to locate a Bighorn enemy in Rosaria just outside of Martha’s Rest.
Press to
Jump before initiating the first attack. It doesn’t really matter which order you use them in, but you’ll need to master at least one of the abilities (which takes 1,000
Ability Points) to attach it to another Eikon besides
Garuda. Use all three of them while you’re in the air and before you land, and you’ll trigger the achievement/trophy.

I Am the Thunder
Discharge 50 Blind Justice lightning balls (excluding battles in the Hall of Virtue).
This achievement/trophy is easy to obtain. Activate the Ramuh Eikon and use his
Blind Justice attack to target enemies. Press
again to discharge the lightning balls once they’ve been launched.

Rod to Redemption
Lure an enemy into striking a Lightning Rod 3 times before it dissipates (excluding battles in the Hall of Virtue).
Just as with the previous achievements/trophies, it’s easiest to track down a larger enemy, such as an Adamantoise or a Bighorn, in Rosaria near Martha’s Rest. Activate Lightning Rod and then stand near it while the enemy uses its attacks. Since you’re just trying to earn the achievement/trophy, it doesn’t matter if you get hit by the attack, as long as the enemy strikes the rod.

Untouchable
Use Titanic Block to fend off 10 enemy attacks (excluding battles in the Hall of Virtue).
One of the easiest achievements/trophies to obtain. Equip the Titan Eikon once you have access to it and use
Titanic Block to block a total of 10 attacks. These do not have to be “Precision Blocks,” and you do not have to counterattack. Just stand there and let an enemy hit you 10 times.

Beat Rocking Blocks
Land the third punch of a Titanic Counter twice in a single battle (excluding those in the Hall of Virtue).
Similar to the achievements/trophies for Garuda, this one is easiest to earn if you initiate a battle against a tougher target like the Bighorns and Adamantoise enemies just outside of Martha’s Rest in Rosaria. You’ll need to use Titanic Block in the same way that you would trigger a
Precision Dodge, i.e., right at the moment that the enemy’s attack would hit Clive. Block the attack and then immediately follow it up with a “Titanic Counter” and pressing
three times in a row.

100 Mfps
Land 100 total hits with Lv. 2 or higher Megaflare (excluding battles in the Hall of Virtue).
You can earn this achievement/trophy once you have access to the Bahamut Eikon. Activate Bahamut’s Eikonic Ability Set and use
Wings of Light to charge up the Megaflare meter. This will slowly happen over time, but you can increase the speed at which it charges up by successfully dodging attacks. Press
again to unleash Megaflare and, after 100 total hits across as many battles as it takes, the achievement/trophy will be unlocked.

Such Dodge, So Mega
Execute a Precision Dodge 3 times while charging a single Megaflare (excluding battles in the Hall of Virtue).
This achievement/trophy can be earned at the same time you’re earning “100 Mfps.” Just float around the battlefield while Wings of Light is active and execute a
Precision Dodge when an enemy attempts to attack you.
This needs to be completed before Megaflare is fully charged, which means this achievement/trophy is much easier to obtain if you fully level up Wings of Light so that Megaflare can reach up to Lv. 4. Once the gauge is fully charged, a Precision Dodge will no longer count towards the achievement, and you’ll have to start over.

Oh, Snap!
Inflict Permafrost on 10 enemies perfectly dodging attacks with Cold Snap (excluding battles in the Hall of Virtue).
This achievement/trophy can be earned after you’ve obtained the Shiva Eikon. Use Shiva’s
Cold Snap ability instead of dodging an enemy attack, and you’ll trigger a “Permafrost.” This can be triggered against bosses or against smaller enemies.
The Reflection of Ice (Cold Snap) accessory can make it easier to earn this achievement/trophy.

Cold-blooded
Simultaneously defeat three or more enemies frozen using Frostbite, Permafrost, or Diamond Dust (excluding battles in the Hall of Virtue).
This achievement/trophy can be earned after you’ve obtained the Shiva Eikon. You can earn it by using
Cold Snap to “Permafrost” enemies and then defeating them before they unfreeze themselves. However, the easiest method of obtaining it is to use
Diamond Dust on a group of low-level enemies.

Every Damn Sinew
Land a Lv. 2 or higher Zantetsuken five times (excluding battles in the Hall of Virtue).
This achievement/trophy can be earned after you have obtained the Odin Eikon. It’s normally earned pretty early on and pretty easily after you have access to Odin, because Zantetsuken is generally considered to be one of the strongest abilities in the game, and most players end up relying on it pretty heavily—certainly using it more than 5 times!
Charge up Zantetsuken either by activating Arm of Darkness or by using Odin’s Eikonic Abilities like
Gungnir,
Heaven’s Cloud, or
Dancing Steel, and then unleash it by activating
Arm of Darkness and holding the
button to trigger the ability. Using the maximum level Zantetsuken (which requires an upgraded Arm of Darkness) will deal a ton of damage to groups of mobs or to bosses.

Fistful of Steel
Execute 3 Steel Counters in a single battle (excluding those in the Hall of Virtue).
This achievement/trophy can be earned after you've obtained the Odin Eikon. Activate
Arm of Darkness and use a melee attack with
button right when an enemy attacks, and press
again right after parrying the attack to execute a “Steel Counter.” This can be achieved more easily by challenging larger bosses like the Bighorns and Adamantoise enemies near Martha’s Rest in Rosaria.

Yes, Eikon
Master all of a single Eikon’s abilities and feats.
You can earn this achievement/trophy as soon as you have enough Ability Points to fully master one Eikon’s abilities and feats. Remember that you can always reset Ability Points by pressing and holding the
+
button.

Masterclass
Upgrade all feats and abilities to their maximum.
You can earn this achievement/trophy as soon as you have enough Ability Points to fully master and unlock all of the Eikon’s abilities in the “Abilities” tab. While it’s possible to fight low-level enemies continuously until you earn enough Ability Points, the recommended route is to complete Final Fantasy Mode and play through the game a second time. This allows your current configuration to carry over, and by the time you’ve completed the game on hard mode, you’ll have more than enough points.

With Two Ds
Upgrade consumable potency and inventory slots to their maximum.
There are two consumable potency upgrades and two consumable inventory slot upgrades that you can unlock during a playthrough. These are unlocked by completing four quests as noted below:
The Root of the Problem unlocks
Morganbeard Extract
Please, Sir, Can I Have Some Morbol unlocks
Invigorated Morganbeard Extract
Weird Science unlocks
Treated Potion Satchel
Even Weirder Science unlocks
Expanded Potion Satchel
Unlocking all four of these rewards will earn you the achievement/trophy.

And They Opened Up My Mind
Collect six signboards.
This achievement/trophy can be earned if you obtain all six signboards. The signboards you need are included below:
Briar’s Kiss Signboard
Clayhearth Signboard
Crimson Caravans Signboard
Hanged Man Signboard
Martha’s Rest Signboard
Veil Signboard
The Optional Quests you need to complete are:
Duty Undying II
For Great Justice II
Lines in the Sand II

Think, Mark!
Defeat 10 notorious marks.
You can earn this achievement/trophy as soon as you’ve defeated ten Notorious Marks. You can find the Notorious Mark listing in the Hunts section of the guide, but if you’re following the walkthrough, you’ll automatically obtain it after you’ve defeated Grimalkin, unless you’ve skipped Svarog and are saving it for later.

Hunter, Hunted
Clear the Hunt Board.
This achievement/trophy will be obtained after you have defeated all of the Notorious Marks and completed all of the Hunts. Check out the Hunts section for more information.

Trial Run
Complete a chronolith trial.
This achievement/trophy will be obtained after you’ve completed one of the Chronolith Trials.

For the Hoard
Obtain all curiosities.
You can earn this achievement/trophy by obtaining all 22 of the curiosities for the Wall of Memories, excluding the ones associated with the
Echoes of the Fallen or
The Rising Tide DLC Expansions. Check out the Wall of Memories section for more information on how to obtain each of them.

Dressed to the Fives
Craft or upgrade 5 pieces of gear.
This achievement/trophy is unlocked by having Clive upgrade five pieces of gear by Blackthorne at the Black Hammer (or by Pavaat at the Haven Foundry). It will typically be unlocked naturally as you progress through the game and acquire the necessary materials to upgrade the gear that Clive has equipped.

Half Past Twilight
Craft the legendary sword Gotterdammerung.
This achievement/trophy is unlocked once you’ve had Blackthorne craft the Gotterdammerung sword for Clive. This requires obtaining the
Gotterdammerung Design Draft, which requires completing the following chain of quests:
After that, you’ll need to obtain the materials to actually craft the sword. This includes the following:
![]() |
Materials |
---|---|
![]() |
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
You can obtain these materials by…
- Completing the
Gobermouch Hunt for the
Primitive Battlehorn
- Completing the
Prince of Death Hunt for one
Darksteel
- Completing the
Thanatos Hunt for the other.

The Pen Is Mightier
Open 10 letters at the reading table.
This achievement/trophy is unlocked by reading missives at Clive’s Reading Table. Most players will have obtained enough of them to read by the time they reach the Out of the Shadow Main Scenario Quest. Just head over to Clive’s Chambers and read them to unlock it.

The More You Know
Help Harpocrates attain a knowledge level of 5.
This achievement/trophy is unlocked once Harpocrates reaches a knowledge level of at least 5 out of a maximum of 8. While eight can be a bit more challenging to obtain (check out the The Thousand Tomes side quest page), most players will acquire a level of 5 automatically as they play through the game. Check in with Harpocrates in the Hideaway during the
Things Fall Apart Main Scenario Quest and you’ll likely have attained the acquired level to earn it.

Careful Whispers
Obtain all available items from your patrons.
This achievement/trophy is obtained once you’ve unlocked all of the rewards at The Patron’s Whisper. You don’t need to have completed all of the Optional Quests and Hunts per se, just most of them. Refer to those two sections for more information on how to earn enough
Renown to earn this achievement/trophy.

You Can Pet the Dog
Pet Torgal 5 times.
To earn this achievement/trophy, interact with Torgal by facing him and pressing the
button to pet Torgal. Do this five times to earn the achievement/trophy.

A Fine Hound
Execute and land 5 Precision Sics (excluding battles in the Hall of Virtue).
Earning this achievement/trophy will come naturally if you remember to use Torgal in battle, pressing either or
regularly. A “Precision Sic” can be accomplished by timing the attack during one of Clive’s melee strikes, which knocks an enemy down. This will cause Torgal’s attack to deal more damage. Initiate a
Melee Combo with some
Magic Burst in between while commanding Torgal with
, and you should trigger this achievement/trophy automatically as you progress through the game.

When You Ride Alone
Ride Ambrosia for the first time.
You can earn this achievement/trophy by unlocking the ability for Clive to ride his Chocobo, Ambrosia. This is fairly easy to do in Final Fantasy XVI compared to some of the other games in the series; all you have to do is complete
The White-Winged Wonder Optional Quest.

Press the button to summon her after you’ve completed the quest.

Here Be Rosfields
Visit all areas on the world map and local maps.
This is another achievement/trophy that should be unlocked if you complete the Optional Quests, Hunts, and Side Quests in the game. Some areas of the map that you need to explore to complete this achievement/trophy can only be reached by completing a required Optional Quest. Check out the Maps section to see all of the areas that you can explore in Sanbreque, Rosaria, Dhalmekia, and Waloed.
Note that you don’t need to explore Mysidia to unlock this achievement/trophy.
Here are some common areas that players miss:
- Weeping Rent pathway near Lostwing in Sanbreque.
Other routes can be taken to reach Northreach, so this area is sometimes overlooked. - The Edge of Infinity in southern Waloed.
A cutscene kicks up before Clive reaches the last area near the Obelisk, so you have to travel back to this area’s Obelisk to fill in this section of the map. - The town of Mikkelburg in Waloed.
This area is only accessible when you complete theDuty Undying II Optional Quest.
If you’re still having trouble, make sure that you’ve activated all of the Obelisks and examine all corners of the maps to see if there are any faded areas.

Eureka
Spend 36,000 gil at the Tub & Crown.
Speak to Maeve, the Bartender at the Tub & Crown in the Hideaway, and she will give you two options for purchasing drinks:
- “Order a drink. (500 gil)”
- “Buy a round for the hall. (10,000 gil)”
Using your trusty calculator, the easiest way to unlock the trophy is to buy three rounds for the hall and twelve drinks for Clive. This is a somewhat expensive proposition, but you can keep your money after obtaining the achievement/trophy by resetting your game.

Fantasy, Finally
Complete the game on “Final Fantasy” mode.
The final achievement/trophy is earned by completing the game again on “Final Fantasy Mode” difficulty. The upside is that you’ll still have access to your Eikons, Abilities, Eikonic Ability Sets, and Gear. The downside is that you’ll have to play through the game from beginning to end, and you’ll have to face off against tougher enemies (and more of them!).
To speed things up, remember that you can skip cutscenes by pressing and then
.
Echoes of the Fallen

A Crystal Darkly
Brave the dusk.
You can earn this achievement/trophy by initiating the Echoes of the Fallen DLC Expansion.
Start by completing the Where There’s a Will and
Priceless Optional Quests once you reach the
Back to Their Origin Main Scenario Quest. Then speak to Charon back at the Hideaway to initiate the “Echoes of the Fallen” quest. During the opening sequence of the quest at the Hideaway, Charon will provide Clive with the
Dusk Shard curiosity, and you’ll receive the achievement/trophy.

The Only Way Is Up
Enter the spire.
You will earn this achievement/trophy after you follow the initiate steps of the “Echoes of the Fallen” quest, traveling through the Dim and entering the Sagespire for the first time.

Repercussion
Silence the echoes.
You’ll receive this achievement/trophy after defeating Omega and completing the Echoes of the Fallen DLC Expansion.

OMG
Defeat Omega on “Final Fantasy” mode.
This achievement/trophy can only be earned if you complete the Echoes of the Fallen DLC Expansion in “Final Fantasy Mode.” Check out the Game Modes section for more information and, if you decide to play the “Final Fantasy Mode” version of the game, check out the Final Fantasy Mode version of this strategy guide, which includes updates to all of the sections of the game that have been changed for hard more.

Bit Fit
Obtain all Fallen bits.
You can earn this achievement/trophy by acquiring all of the “Bit” accessories scattered throughout the Sagespire. There are six in total, and all of their locations are pointed out in the Echoes of the Fallen DLC Expansion section, but they are not too hard to find.
The accessories include:

My Reward Is with Me
Obtain the Omega Weapon.
You can obtain this achievement/trophy by collecting all of the materials required to craft Omega Weapon. Completing the
Echoes of the Fallen DLC Expansion will give you all of the materials you require, which include:
Head back to the Black Hammer to have Blackthorne craft the sword for you after the expansion quest is completed.

The Rising Tide

The Calm
Find again what was lost.
You can earn this achievement/trophy by initiating The Rising Tide DLC Expansion.
Start by completing the Where There’s a Will and
Priceless Optional Quests once you reach the
Back to Their Origin Main Scenario Quest. Examine Clive’s Reading Table to find a missive labeled
(Unmarked) which initiates the quest.

Homecoming
Enter Mysidia.
This achievement/trophy will unlock once Clive, Jill, and Shula follow the pathway along the Cloaktop area of Mysidia.

Flow
Awaken the storm.
This achievement/trophy will unlock after you’ve defeated Perykos at the Surge fairly early on in The Rising Tide DLC Expansion.

Flood
Restore the flow of time.
This achievement/trophy will unlock after you’ve defeated Timekeeper at the Aire of Hours in The Rising Tide DLC Expansion.

Explain That
Tamed the tides.
This achievement/trophy will unlock after you’ve defeated Leviathan towards the end of The Rising Tide DLC Expansion.

Thou Brakest the Head
Defeat Leviathan in “Final Fantasy” mode.
This achievement/trophy is similar to OMG. To earn it, you’ll need to complete The Rising Tide DLC Expansion in “Final Fantasy Mode.” Check out the Game Modes section for more information and, if you decide to play the “Final Fantasy Mode” version of the game, check out the Final Fantasy Mode version of this strategy guide, which includes updates to all of the sections of the game that have been changed for hard more.

Tideslinger
Land 300 Tidal attacks combined (excluding battles in the Hall of Virtue).
This achievement/trophy can be unlocked once you’ve obtained the Leviathan Eikon. Activate the Eikon and then activate its
Serpent’s Cry weapon by pressing the
button. Clive’s
and
button attacks will now be “Tidal” attacks, so just keep pressing them until you’ve executed 300 total.

Supersoaker
Strike three or more enemies with Tidal attacks while using unlimited ammunition following a Quick Refill.
This achievement/trophy can be unlocked once you’ve obtained the Leviathan Eikon. While you have
Serpent’s Cry activated with the
button, you can press
again to refill your Tidal Gauge. If you time it correctly so that the two circles are aligned, you’ll temporarily have infinite ammunition. You’ll need to kill three enemies while you have infinite ammo to unlock this achievement/trophy.
The timing for this can be challenging. You don’t have a lot of time to defeat the enemies before the “infinite ammo” runs out. Still, the easiest way to do this is to group up some low-level enemies, get their health somewhat low, trigger infinite ammo/Tidal Gauge, and then defeat all of the enemies.
There are a few areas in Tailwind Bay that have large groups of enemies. This can be done with the groups of wolves, but many players report having an easier time accomplishing this task by defeating the groups of Ibex, which will let you walk right up to them. Cross Swell can help group enemies up, but it may instantly kill groups of Ibex.
Check out the video below to see how it’s done:

Dues Ex
Channel the heavens.
To obtain this achievement/trophy, you’ll need to complete The Rising Tide DLC Expansion and reach the end of the game’s final chapter called
Of Gods and Men. Return to the Hideaway and examine the
Arete Stone, which should have a strange question mark above, and interact with the stone to trigger a short cutscene and battle.

A Most Worthy Vessel
Acquire and master all Leviathan and Ultima abilities.
You can use the +
button to reset your
Ability Points under the “Abilities” tab. Use your Ability Points to completely unlock and master the abilities for both
Leviathan and
Ultima to unlock this trophy/achievement.

The End Can Wait
Complete 10 Mysidian quests.
There are eleven Optional Quests to complete in Mysidia. This achievement/trophy will unlock once you’ve completed 10 out of 11 of them. Check out The Rising Tide DLC Expansion section for more information, or head to the Optional Quests section.

Still Breathing
Complete the Trial by Water.
You can unlock this achievement/trophy by completing the Trial by Water in Mysidia.
